Simon aka @champagnedadstyle knows a thing or two about hot spots in Brisbane to go with your kids, so we’ve asked him to give us his top 5 - just in time for those long summer days heading our way.
1. New Farm Park Playground
It’s one of the best in Brisbane located by the Brisbane River which you can then easily catch the city cat into the city.
LOCATION: 6 Bikemba Ct, New Farm
2. South Bank!
So much to do here and you can either drive, take the city cat, bus or bike here depending where you are. You can swim in the man-made beach, play at some amazing playgrounds, jump on the Brisbane wheel or walk over to the science centre / museums.
LOCATION: Stanely St Plaza
3. Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary
I have visited this small sanctuary for years and love it. They only have Australian animals and its not huge making it very easy to get around with kids. It’s a place you can actually get up close and touch emus, kangaroos etc.
LOCATION: 708 Jesmon Rd, Fig Tree Pocket
4. The Eat Street Markets
Located at Hamilton on the river, held every Friday Saturday and Sunday. They have just about every kind of food you can think of plus loads of entertainment such as live music, jumping castles and outdoor movies just need to check website for details.
LOCATION: 221D MacArthur Ave, Hamilton
5. Howard Smith Wharves
This is quite new but as a family we love it! You can take your scooter or bike and ride along the river walk. We love going for a beer and pizza at Felons Brewery and let Olivia play with the kids on the huge timber boat they have made into a playground. At night you can watch the city lights and bridge light up. Also on weekends they have a petting zoo, food trucks and music.
LOCATION: 5 Boundary St, Brisbane City
So now you know, get out and explore! We'd also love to hear any other places you would recommend in the Brisbane region. Get in touch with us on Facebook or Instagram.
